horizon flat grey stainless
low clouds cover the hut
Blue monk blares
from the crater out back
inside it’s a bust
hot, tan and twisted
two wheeled excitement
large lobes of flesh
wheeze on the dance floor
heads like potatoes
but a little bit larger
Second generation invaders
they prance about the room
in wanton rhumba frenzy
tumblers in tentacles held high
war whoops garbled and silly
squeals of delight
parade of lampshade hats
sap-smeared buttocks
their nubile snakes
with a bowl of dip on the side
Outside in the silence
pigeons on the roof
strut small circles on the shingles
bob and coo, bob and coo
